PRN Correctional LPN
Job Description
BOS Medical Staffing is searching for an PRN LPN with corrections experience to work in a facility located in Douglasville, GA.
- Estimated Hours: Days and Nights
- Shifts: 12-hour
Nursing staff in a correctional facility are responsible for providing comprehensive patient care to incarcerated individuals through the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Working collaboratively with members of the healthcare team and correctional staff, nurses deliver clinical care, support patient education, and help ensure the health and safety of the facility population. Registered Nurses (RNs) may guide and direct aspects of clinical care and support personnel, while Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) assist with clinical duties under the supervision of an RN, Health Services Administrator (HSA), Mid-Level Provider, or Physician. All nursing staff are expected to maintain professional nursing standards and ethical practices in accordance with applicable State Board of Nursing regulations and accrediting agencies. This role requires strong analytical and decision-making skills, the ability to respond effectively to healthcare needs within the correctional environment, and clear, professional communication.
Requirements
- Current, unencumbered nursing license
- At least 1 year of correctional experience required.
- American Heart Association BLS certification
- Basic computer skills for charting
- Experience using Sapphire for charting preferred
- Ability to work as part of team and multi-task
- Candidates must pass a criminal background check including an FBI Fingerprint Criminal History
- Check and Pre-employment drug screen
