Job Description
Department Details: This is an adult substance abuse facility that treats detoxing and residential patients. There are 15 detox beds and 60 residential. Day and night shift has 2 nurses per shift. Patients are medically stable prior to admission and are voluntary. There are no restraints, no security and visiting is on Sundays from 1p-4p.
Shift: 12 hours, days and nights
Required Certifications: CPR/BLS, CPI
Required Experience: 2 years of inpatient substance abuse experience; able to do CIWAs and COWs
Interview: Will be conducted via Microsoft Teams with Camera on
Responsibilities:
- Implements individualized treatment programs as directed by the Health Care Practitioner.
- Count controlled substances, syringes, needles, and sharps at the beginning of each shift with another staff member and sign count logs
- Communicate information to nursing staff, physicians, health care unit supervisory personnel, and other staff as necessary.
- Respect the dignity and confidentiality of patients.
- Must be able to apply principles of critical thinking to a variety of practical and emergent situations and accurately follow standardized procedures that may call for deviations.
- Must be able to apply sound judgment beyond a specific set of instructions and apply knowledge to different factual situations.
